Expanded Eligibility for Free High-Quality Early Care and Education

Thanks to Baby Prop C (2018) funding, DEC expanded eligibility for free high quality early childhood education from 85% of the State Median Income (SMI) to 110% of the Area Median Income (AMI)—that’s $158,500 for a household of 4. This means that more than 10,000 additional families—more than half of all families in SF—can enroll in early childhood education for free! 

This is a significant step towards creating a more equitable early childhood experience.
