We are excited to announce that the Department of Early Childhood (DEC) has released a Requests for Grant Applications (RFGA) that prioritizes a family-centric approach to enhance access to high-quality, affordable early learning experiences tailored to the diverse needs of children and their families. By merging locally funded early learning initiatives into the comprehensive “Early Learning for All” program, DEC aims to support low-income and middle-class families. The initiative emphasizes the importance of cultural responsiveness and the need for advocates to guide parents through complex systems of enrollment and funding. With substantial investments in the early care and education workforce and efforts to expand facility capacity for infants and toddlers, this RFGA seeks to connect families with community resources that ensure free or affordable early care and education, fostering a supportive environment for all children.
The RFGA Summary document and all application materials can be found by going to our website at https://sfdec.org/funding-opportunities/
We will hold a pre-proposal conference on January 13, 2025, to discuss the opportunity further and answer your questions.
